Home to the oldest Labor Day Parade in Indiana, Lowell hosts a number of other events and festivals including Buckley Homestead Days, a WWII re-enactment, the Cobe Cup Race, and many downtown events on Main Street. Lowell's downtown is well-known for its antique and specialty shops housed in the original circa 1890 buildings. There are also numerous casual and fine dining restaurants.
History
This small town features Buckley Homestead, a living history farm that offers seasonal tours as well as annual festivals for the whole family, hosts a number of events, including a World War II reenactment with authentic weapons, artillery, and tanks. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is another event that takes place in Lowell in September. During the event, the townsfolk search for Ichabod Crain, the only man who can tell the true story of the Headless Horseman.
